Our Work

The practice has been involved in a wide range of projects of varying complexity, across the UK, Europe and the Middle East. Our work originates in the creative exploration of the context, taking into account the geographic location, climatic impact, local and national regulations, along with the brief and budget.

During the design process we explore the parameters through drawings, models and digital studies to achieve thoughtful, appropriate solutions. We combine a respect for the context, environment and architectural heritage with a modern design ethos linked with an appropriate technology.
We consistently aim to enhance the inherent value of a site and to use our skills to visualise a concept, communicate that vision, and implement the solution to best serve the needs of our clients.

The practice has hands-on experience of: building on constrained sites with complex regulatory issues affecting consents, listed buildings, conservation areas, areas of outstanding natural beauty. We relish achieving innovative, beautiful solutions, on large-scale projects as well as those on tight budgets.

We are experienced in one-off houses, alteration to existing houses, housing developments, barn conversions, apartments, hotels, retail (including shopping centers), art gallery, offices, schools and sustainable developments.

We collaborate with Engineers, Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors, Architects, Interior Designers and other specialists to provide a comprehensive service.

The Cost

Costs vary according to the extent of the services required. Architectural services are usually provided on a percentage based on the building contract sum. The larger the contract sum, the lower the percentage. Where the scope of a project or project budget is unclear at inception, fees can be charged on an hourly rate. Where the scope, budget, regulatory implications and project constraints are clearly defined and finite at the outset, a fixed fee may be appropriate.
